Another type of pigeon leg ring is numbered uniformly by region and time by the racing pigeon association. The number is unique and can be used to confirm the identity of the pigeon.

It is widely used in the information management and tracking of animals and poultry such as poultry identification, electronic consumption, product identification, animal management, food traceability, breeding of breeding poultry, feeding/epidemic prevention and control, and quarantine of pigeon races, mainly providing traceability of animals and food.
